June 2016 Newsletter

The OU Club of Colorado would like to thank you for your support of and interest in the inaugural Crimson & Cream Golf Classic. Due to low registration, we will be postponing this event until 2017. Please join me in thanking the committee (Jeff, Dave, and Ed) for their hard work. One thing I would ask of our members is to support these events earlier as there were a lot of last minute inquiries and some disappointment when people learned the event was postponed. We need your support much earlier in the process and will do our part to relay the information as it becomes available.

Call for Officers and Volunteers
As we sit back and enjoy the fruits of all the athletic teams this year….time to brag….National Champions in Softball, Men’s Gymnastics, and Women’s Gymnastics….Men’s Basketball Final Four….Men’s Tennis National Runner-Up….Women’s Basketball 17 straight post-season seasons….College Football Playoff…..don’t know how we don’t win that damn Director’s Cup away from Stanford.

So where is the officer plug you ask….right NOW. We are always looking for great people to help run the best DAMN alumni club in the country. There will be leadership positions available and other volunteer opportunities to help you stay close with the best university ever, the University of Oklahoma. We will not ask you to sign your life away to help the organization, but we will ask for your support at the 20+ events your officers help put on each year. The mission of the OU Club of Colorado is to provide fellowship for alumni and friends of OU, and to promote the University to prospective students from the state of Colorado and the region. We are looking for help with memberships, social events, and scholarships, and of course….our watch parties. If you are interested in volunteering or learning more about getting involved, please email me at ouclubofco@gmail.com.

Most importantly, congratulations OU Class of 2016! Many of you our parents of graduates or friends. From our family to to yours…

Thanks for your continued support of this organization. Updates for the next newsletter will include information on our scholarship winners. I hope you have a great week and… BOOMER SOONER!!
